LoveBags
There are an estimated 15,000 homeless individuals and families trying to survive on the streets in South Florida. We pass them daily on our way to the mall, Starbucks, and dinner with our friends. As a community, Epic Church wants to challenge the way we look at the homeless around us.
LOVEBAGS, a grass roots ministry, believes that changing homlessness begins with relationships. It's not just about feeding the homeless, it's about becoming part of their lives. Bringing bags filled with food, clothes, hygiene items, etc, you will get to know their names, hear their stories, and develop friendships with those who call the streets their home. Join a team any Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.
LoveBags Families is a special partnership with The Shepherd's Way in Fort Lauderdale caring for homeless families residing in transitional housing. You can be part of a group that visits these families twice a month bringing dinner, talking, developing relationships, and loving them. Email Jan Lyon at Janmlyon@comcast.net to be involved in this amazing opportunity.
Act: Africa
History is telling a story... we're part of it. The next act? Africa! Join a community of people who simply want to play a role in solving the greatest humanitarian crisis in history. We determine the way this story ends.
ACT: AFRICA is a network of concerned individuals who meet regularly to conspire how together, we can be directly involved in solving the crisis in Africa. Some of the groups we are working with so far are:
You are invited to join us to hear more about the Act: Africa's efforts in Zambia and our current project - - driling a fresh water well at the ABC School near Ndola, Zambia. Our next meeting will be in May at the Dillon's home, 2122 NW 48 Terrace, Coconut Creek, FL 33063. For information and directions, please email Karen@epic-remix.org.
Special Projects
WE'RE DRILLING FOR WATER! This past September, a team from Epic Church and three other churches from around the country traveled to Ndola, Zambia in partnership with the Agathos Foundation. As a result, Epic Church and those connected with Act: AFRICA have begun a relationship with the ABC School near Ndola. The school is providing education and care for approximately 200 children living in "bush" villages. We recognized that in addition to educational needs, there is a need for clean water, consistant food sources, housing, transportation and medical care.
We are excited to be working to raise the funds needed to drill a fresh water well at the school. Want to help? If you would like more information about our long-term efforts in Zambia or would like to contribute financially to our efforts to drill the well, please email Karen@epic-remix.org.
